A great speech of inspiration. But the work must continue, to stop child abuse, sexual abuse, and domestic violence, not only in New York, California, but accross the entire nation. I didn’t get my strong voice until I had a three year intensive therapy in 1990, wrote out my story, (it was never published), but still have the manuscript. I was physically, abused, and molested all through my childhood. Keep on being that strong voice for us women, and don’t ever stop caring for the abuse child. Sincerely, Lillian Mary

I love how Mariska thanked her husband at the end of the speech. I think Peter probably wrote most if not all of her speech for her.The part about her mother was sweet, as was her emphasis that her mother was a worthwhile woman beyond just her measurements.She really seems like the nicest most grateful woman. I wish I knew her in real life not just as Olivia.She seems like a great person.

I agree with Susan. I loved her speech & almost cried when she talked about her Mother. I am old enough to remember her. Like Susan said, I wish I knew her in real life, just not as Olivia Benson. I view a segment on Meve Griffen show when she was on at 2 years old with her mother & brothers. Who knew that she would turn out to be such a wonderful woman. View SVU all the time. Love the show.

Jesse, I’m a fan of Mariska ardaroso. I wonder if you could put the text of his speech. Do not quite understand the language. So I do not know what she said. They say his speech was beautiful, moving. I wonder what she said. Thank you.

Too bad Mariska couldn’t go to the 2nd inauguration of Barack Obama today.Someone I follow on Twitter mentioned that she was in NYC trying to get Mariska’s autograph, as they are filming today.We all remember Mariska’s wonderful appearance four years ago, and her comments about domestic violence,and those great pictures of her with President Obama. SHE’S very inspirational and an important spokeswoman for the causes she supports. That’s why we love Mariska.Shes a great role model for all women.
